Are You Living Your Best Life?
My definition of living your best life is maximizing your life in all areas of money, health, relationships, and freedom to spend your time on your terms with the people and things you enjoy most.
If you have been following me for any period of time, in January 2017 I started a YouTube channel and a blog called, “Enough with Debt” that documented my entire journey of getting out of $70,000 worth of debt. The majority of this debt was student loans and a car.
Each month I showed everyone my budget that I had formulated for me to be able to pay off this debt within 12 months. I reached that goal in December 2017 and paid off all of my debts. Yet, I didn’t want to stop there. I felt as if I had an obligation and duty to help anyone else that is stuck in debt and wanted to know how to pay it off. I wanted to help people get past the overwhelm of looking at their debt and not knowing where and how to start.
There is not ONE single plan that I believe is perfect for everyone and I do feel that my situation won’t be applicable to everyone that is reading this. I do believe that there are bits and pieces that you can take from those who have been successful with minimizing or eradicating their debt and apply it to your own circumstances regarding your debt.
You probably read $70,000 worth of debt and thought, that’s a lot of money. It was a lot of money and it was a crazy goal that I set in January, but I reached it and you can too!
Throughout the 2017 year, I transitioned from being an employee and became an entrepreneur. I worked a lot on the side to increase my income by picking up contract work. At the same time, I was diligently reviewing my budget to eliminate unnecessary expenses each month. After two months of becoming an entrepreneur and working for myself, I tripled my income.
It was a process of over 10 years that it took for me to be able to acquire this much debt to my name and it took a process to eliminate it in one year. I had to lock down and get very serious about my goals and once I did this, I met my goal.
